Privacy Policy

Last updated September 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how StartCare (“StartCare,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our telemedicine platform. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in our Terms of Service. Your privacy and the confidentiality of your health information are central to how we operate.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide: account details such as your name, email, phone number, date of birth, and shipping/billing information.

Health information: information you share during intake or a visit, including symptoms, medical history, medications, and allergies. Some of this is protected health information (“PHI”) or otherwise sensitive under applicable law.

Information you enter on our site: text you type into forms and the symptom box, captured as you type — including entries you do not submit. We use it to operate and improve the Service.

Payment information: processed by our third-party payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.

Technical and usage information: device, browser, IP address, and how you interact with the Service, collected automatically including through cookies and similar technologies.

2. How We Use Information

To provide care: to facilitate intake, prepare a draft assessment for a licensed provider to review, and support prescribing and follow-up.

To operate and improve the Service: to maintain accounts, process payments, provide support, secure our systems, and improve reliability and safety.

To communicate with you: to send confirmations, service and security notices, and — where permitted — information about features and offers, which you can opt out of.

To comply with law: to meet our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations, including recordkeeping.

3. How We Share Information

With your treating providers and the pharmacy you choose, to provide care and fulfill prescriptions.

With service providers (“subprocessors”) that process data on our behalf under written agreements — for example cloud hosting, communications, e-prescribing, and payment processing.

For legal, safety, and corporate reasons: to comply with law or valid legal process, to protect rights and safety, and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your health information.

4. Cookies & Analytics

We and our analytics providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features.

5. HIPAA & Your Health Information

StartCare is not itself a “covered entity” under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). In its role supporting providers and pharmacies, StartCare may act as a “business associate” and, in that role, handle PHI consistent with HIPAA and applicable state law. Access to PHI is limited to those who need it to provide or support your care. Information that is not PHI is handled under this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

6. Data Security

We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, audit logging, tenant isolation, and other administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and you are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

7. Data Retention

We retain medical records for the period required by applicable law and professional standards, and other information for as long as needed to provide the Service and meet our obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of certain information, and to opt out of certain uses such as marketing. Some rights are subject to legal and clinical retention requirements. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@startcare.ai. We do not sell the personal information of anyone under 16.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and is generally intended for adults. A parent or legal guardian may use the Service on a minor's behalf where permitted by law and by the provider.

10. Mobile Information & Text Messaging

If you provide a mobile phone number, we use it to send you account and service text messages, such as one-time verification codes and transactional notifications about your care (for example, that your treatment report is ready). Message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Opting out will not affect other parts of the Service, though some security features (such as SMS verification codes) may then require an alternative method.

No mobile information — including your phone number and any SMS opt-in or consent — is shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message providers act on our behalf solely to deliver these messages to you. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date and, where required, we will provide notice or obtain consent.
